Britain In Bloom

Cobham Community Garden celebrated their impressive result for their first ‘Britain in Bloom’ campaign on Saturday 6th October by hosting a picnic lunch in the Garden.

In July 2018, the Garden was judged by the ‘In Bloom’ panel against 3 categories:

Community participation

Environmental Responsibility

Gardening Achievement

Mark Money, former Head Gardener, was delighted to announce the Garden achieved the result of Thriving – level 4 out of 5 – an excellent outcome for a first attempt.

The Judges commented “This is a well maintained and very well presented site and wonderful place to come along and learn how to grow a variety of different crops. It has a very vibrant feel about the place. They are doing a wonderful job and may it continue”.

Mark went on to say that in order to sustain the Garden then more volunteer involvement is needed.  The Garden needs new peopleto help, manage and sustain the graden. More details on our RESOURCE page.

Supporter Mary Lewis - Surrey County Councillor for the area and who opened the Garden in 2016 - congratulated the Garden team on such a positive result at this first attempt, and wished us well in attracting more help.
