Committee members

This role is vital for ensuring that the Garden is properly managed to endure its future, operates ethically and meets the needs of its members and the surrounding community.


Members will contribute to the management of the Garden by attending monthly committee meetings (currently around 10-11 pa for 2hrs in the evening) and perhaps taking on ad hoc limited term roles and activities as appropriate. 


This might include responsibility for part of the Garden’s presence at Heritage Day, liaison with a particular organisation, starting up a new project or fund raising effort etc.



Ideal skills / qualifications:

Ideally experience of, or involvement in the management of a small business or not for profit organisation, ideally a Community Interest Company, or similar committee activity;

Communication skills;

An understanding of gardening (ideally veg and fruit), it’s annual cycle, needs and drivers;

The enthusiasm to inspire others to participate in the Garden project;

IT literacy – basic (Word, Excel, etc.);

Ideally a basic comprehension of organisational finances;

Ideally some PR exposure/ideas
